XMTP Airdrop
About XMTP
XMTP is a decentralized messaging protocol that enables secure, private, end-to-end encrypted communication between blockchain addresses and digital identities. It lets developers embed messaging into applications and supports identities such as wallets, passkeys, World ID, and social IDs. Designed around censorship resistance and user ownership, XMTP powers next-generation messaging apps that combine programmable money, autonomous agents, and secure group chats, while using standards like MLS to provide scalable, spam-resistant communication without centralized servers.
Why we choose XMTP?
We selected XMTP because it targets a core web3 need: secure, decentralized, quantum-resistant messaging tailored to environments where financial transactions and sensitive data are frequent. Its adoption by major platforms such as Coinbase Wallet, Base app, and Lens Protocol highlights its ecosystem relevance. We chose it also due to its strong funding profile, having raised around $45.5 million, including a $20 million Series B led by a16z Crypto, with backing from firms like Coinbase Ventures, Circle, and Alchemy.
